My big day. Started in an unexpected way including visiting a hospital. Not because of an emergency, but because it’s the only place where a physician on Sundays is available. I don’t want to get closer into it, because it shouldn’t be the topic of this post. It’s my birthday after all and I’m fine. So, what are we doing, with this rough started day?

After things starting to settle around 1 pm I found myself standing knee-deep in the broken pieces of the plans for today. So I did the thing, I always do in these kinds of situations: head immediately to the next café.

I decided to ignore all potential birthday messages, I would receive until I’m more in the birthday mood. Because the people, who think of me deserves a good mooded answer of me. With a flat white (fancy shmenzy) and a piece of cake, I left the café after almost an hour and a finished book later for a walk. The first call I answered was from my grandmother, who had the best wishes for me, which I really appreciated. I thought of walking towards the next lake, which we have plenty of here in Potsdam. After arriving there, my grandfather called me. He’s an important person for me and influenced me and my interests in a significant way. Unfortunately, he suffers from dementia which really bothers him. As being a curious and do-it-person he really feels the limitations which the sickness and the geriatric conditions burden on him.

I decided to stroll around at the waterline and put out the camera. After all it’s my birthday and I want to do, whatever makes me feeling well.

For almost the whole walk I listened to Japanese City Pop music from Hi-Fi Set from the 70s. It really sparks joy in me hearing people singing joyfully without understanding a single word. It’s kind of a non-verbal communication, if this makes sense, which connects me to the music but still leaves space for my own thoughts.

After a while I found another café for shelter and for charging my phone, which really suffered from the constant streaming and cold weather. Also, this blog article was written there.
So what’s left is to thank you for reading, before I’m going back home and order some Asian food for dinner. And thanks a lot for spending my birthday with me, at least partly.
